Language Arts Skills - Select an appropriate title that reflects the topic of a written selection.  Rearrange multi-paragraphed work in a logical and coherent order.  Select the best way to combine sentences.  Identify the purpose for writing (to inform, describe, explain, persuade).  Identify sentences irrelevant to a paragraph’s theme or flow.  Evaluate text for fact or opinion.  Draw inferences from selected texts. Recognize point of view in literature.  Select an appropriate summary statement and determine whether the theme is stated or implied.  Analyze the use of similes, metaphors, personification, and hyperbole within context.
